Clea Williams
Creative Facilitator
 

Clea started her professional career as a dancer and choreographer.  As such she has always been involved with creating work for performance, including working as  movement director on Animal Farm. She then began working in Theatre in Education making work from a devised and collaborative process. She has most recently worked collaboratively as a performer with Complicite.  More recently Clea has been pursuing her interest in physical theatre studying Viewpoints,  Lecoq and Michael Chekhov.

From being a choreographer Clea moved into directing, working on scripted musicals.  Past productions include Annie, Bugsy Malone, Pippin, Cabaret and Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat.  She has also worked with Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Guildford School of Acting on creating devised work. More recently Clea has been drawn to developing new work with emerging writers.

Clea has twenty years of experience teaching English and Drama in an educational setting.  She graduated from Kingston University with a first class degree in English and Drama.  She is a primary drama specialist as well as teaching across the age ranges.  Clea has an MA in Creative Practice and Direction from Guildford School of Acting and Surrey University. Clea is a current member of the Artistic Directors of the Future: London Board Shadowing cohort, associate director for The CornerHOUSE and a member of the Young Vic’s Director’s Programme.
